If you've known me for a while, you know that tea is more than a hot drink for me. It's a ritual. A moment of peace. A way to return to yourself for a moment. And the world of Ayurvedic infusions has added a whole new dimension to it for me. I discovered Ayurveda about fifteen years ago, more or less by chance, at an international tea fair. What immediately struck me was the thought that health and wellness is not something that you can "solve" with a pill, but that it is all about balance. Balance your diet, your energy, your lifestyle — and yes, also what you drink.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is an ancient health philosophy that originated in India. The word itself literally means "the knowledge (veda) of life (ayur)". In this teaching everything revolves around the balance between three life energies, or Doshas:
Vata (air & space) – energy of movement
Pitta (fire & water) – energy of transformation
Kapha (earth & water) – energy of stability
Each of us has a unique combination of these three Doshas. When they are in balance, we feel good. If they are out of balance, we become tired, tense or even sick.
The role of tea and/or infusion within Ayurveda
What I love about Ayurveda is that it works with the power of nature: herbs, plants, roots and spices. Tea (or rather: herbal infusions) play an important role in this. They can support, calm or activate the Doshas. At Viva Sara we have created a number of Ayurvedic infusions based on these principles that not only do good, but are also really tasty. Because let's be honest: balance starts with something you enjoy.
Two infusions I would like to recommend to you
This week I would like to highlight two blends that are in our range and that I am very enthusiastic about:
Men's Activity Tea
A spicy, fresh infusion with ginger, mint, cinnamon, green mate and black pepper. Ideal for people who are on the move a lot or need an energetic start to the day. This blend is slightly warming and stimulating — perfect for those who have a lot of “vata” in them.
Women's Activity Tea
A soft, slightly more floral blend with lemon verbena, hibiscus, ginseng and apple pieces. This infusion brings peace without making you lethargic. It is a great choice for those looking for balance, stability and inner strength — often useful during a busy life or hormonal fluctuations.
Both infusions are:
* 100% plant-based
* Without added aromas
* Developed with respect for Ayurvedic principles
* Pure, intense and functional
Who is Ayurvedic infusion for?
For anyone who is looking for something more than a regular herbal infusion. Whether you are conscious about your health, want more balance in your day or simply like herbs with character - then Ayurveda is definitely something to discover. These infusions are also a wonderful way to experience your day moments more consciously. Have a Men's Activity bag in the morning for energy and focus. And enjoy a Women's Activity in the evening as a place to relax after a busy day.
I like to call it balance in a cup.
