Loose tea, a personal view from Peter, tea specialist at Viva Sara

If you have been a Viva Sara customer for a while, you know: for me, tea is not a product, it is a story. A story of scent, time, origin and tranquility. And as a tea specialist – and honestly: as a lifelong enthusiast – I would like to share in this blog why I consciously choose loose tea, both at home and professionally.

Tea bags often contain what we call 'tea dust': very small shavings of lower quality. They add flavor quickly, but lack finesse. Loose tea, on the other hand, contains the entire leaves or nice coarse pieces. You get much more aroma, flavor complexity, and just… purity.

I often hear: “Yes, but Peter, isn't that a lot of hassle, that loose tea?” Not at all. You'll need warm water, a cup or pot, and a simple infuser or paper filter. And you left. Moreover, with many varieties you can easily pour 2 or 3 times. So one portion lasts longer than you think.
