The coffee is grown in the famous Blue Mountains of Jamaica, at high altitude and under ideal climatic conditions. Thanks to the combination of mist, rain, temperature and volcanic soil, the coffee cherries slowly ripen and develop a unique and elegant flavor profile.

Coffee cultivation in Jamaica started in 1728, when the first Arabica plants were introduced from Martinique. Today, Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee is grown in a strictly defined area in the Blue Mountains, north of Kingston.

The coffees are picked by hand and processed according to strict quality standards. Since 1944, exports have been centrally controlled to guarantee quality.

The name “Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee” is internationally protected and may only be used for coffee that meets the strict requirements of the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica.

Jamaica offers ideal conditions for coffee growing thanks to its tropical climate and mountainous landscape. The Blue Mountain region is among the highest coffee-producing areas in the world, with plantations between 900 and 1,700 meters in altitude.

The combination of altitude, fog, rain and fertile soil results in coffees with an exceptionally smooth and balanced profile.

Due to limited production and high demand, Jamaica Blue Mountain is one of the most expensive and exclusive coffees worldwide.
